Our university is rapidly progressing toward becoming an "Accessible University." Finally, through a partnership with Boğaziçi University GETEM, visually impaired staff and students have been provided with access to library services.
Staff and students who want to benefit from the service can create a new membership and upload reports/documents by clicking on the GETEM Create New Membership link.
The internet library project, designed by the Boğaziçi University Technology and Education Laboratory for the Visually Impaired (GETEM), aims to provide access to information resources for the visually impaired. The library's publications are primarily in Turkish and English. In addition to books of short stories, novels, and poetry, the library also houses course materials (books, articles, and lecture notes) taught at Turkish universities, recordings of some lectures and conferences, and scientific articles and books. GETEM houses over 35,000 publications. The books, journals, and other materials in the internet library are available in text, audio (computer and human voice), and DAISY (text-human voice) formats. These materials can be listened to using specialized programs that translate audio onto the computer screen.
